Another Koser Short

About a week ago Chris Koser called me up to shoot some stills for another short film of his. The last one I shot for him was in November (I think), and was an absolute blast. It had been awhile since on-set, so I shuffled my schedule and hopped on set. I never got a chance to take a look at the script, but from the half-day shoot I was present for, it seemed really interesting. Here are a few:

Brett’s portraits

A good friend of mine just got word back from AFI about his application to their editing program. He celebrated the good news in many ways, one of which was a quick photo shoot with me. We experimented with a few locations and looks. Here are a couple from the set I sent him off with.

24hr Film Competition

I wasn’t sure if I would have time to shoot during the 24 hour filmmaking competition when I first heard about it, but I’m glad that I was able to find time to hop on set. There two other events that I had to cover throught the day, which ended up nearly killing me. The idea for this was pretty ambitious. Most of the crew has shot for the Seattle 48hr festival a few times before, so a lot of the ideas were a little big for only having half the time.

Even so, the amount of work that was put into securing locations, costumes, equipment, props, actors, and crew was amazing. There were over 20 people on-call throughout the day. TATANGO was nice enough to allow us the use of their offices for about four hours, which was invaluable. I’m pretty sure that Rahim Kohja helped secure that connection. He was also a stills photog for the day. We helped fill in each other’s schedules to make sure that most of the process was documented. Here are a few of the shots:

The Crying Spell

Just a couple days ago I wouldn’t have guessed that I’d have driven from Bellingham to Spokane this weekend.

I got a call from Christian Saxton on Friday afternoon informing me that there would be a music video shoot (dir. Kevin Maistros) in Eastern WA. Even with no weekend plans, I hadn’t entertained the possibility of driving over six hundred miles to the middle of the desert. I didn’t know who the band was until we got there, nor who would be on the crew – with the exception of those mentioned. So, four energy drinks and ~300 miles later, I met up with everyone at their campsite, about a mile away from the location.

The band was The Crying Spell, and the video was for their song “Tattoo’d Girl”.

Here are a few shots from the day:
